I waffle about Lily. I think the last time I saw her was in Okja and she struck me as mediocre. This is a major vehicle for her (she produced it) and like the show, it almost feels like an excuse to be in Paris for a while and who blames her for that? While she is the centerpiece, it’s the supporting cast that wins me over here, especially Luc who is this caricature Frenchman amidst mostly female, gay or boy toy characters, the spot of yang in the yin paisley. It’s total eye candy because paris + outrageous fashion (Emily’s outfits are over the top as are many of the supporting gay characters - no way she could afford that). There’s tons of plot holes - the total absence of any Covid signs in something set now is glaring and a relief.
Like I said, NOT D00M recommended. It’s just where I escaped to over the last two nights and lived to tell. My reviews should be read with even more grains of salts that usual right now.
