Fire update! At this point the fire is 96% contained. The money to fight the fire ends when they reach 100% so it might be some time before it is 100% "contained"
The closest the fire got to the house was 2.33 miles. Fortunately the Chowchilla rivers sits between us and the fire location so we were good on that front. As we drove to the market on Sunday, we passed a lot fo the burn areas. None of the burn were to the south of Road 600. It was all to the north. Road 600 acted as a fine impediment to the fire. According to the reports 6 houses were lost along with 6 structures. Another 6 houses were damages. I think that owes a lot to our fire crews and the fact there weren't a lot of houses in the burn area.
Another fact about the fire was that it seemed mostly to have burned the grasses around the tree and trees remained unscathed so it was kind of like a large grass fire in that sense rather than a forest fire. tQ and I will drive around later this week to see more of the burn are to see if this thesis holds true.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
