I'm aboard with this, BTW. Four episodes in.
I'm not as bothered by the rotoscope technique (not certain if that's the correct term). It gives almost filmic detail in the characters, while allowing for seamless integration with animated special effects that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive to do for live-action integration. At least that's how I see it.
The storylines have been disappointingly simple. Then again, when the lengths are 12-18 minutes, what can you expect? A miracle, that's what. I'm very demanding these days.
Very very demanding.
S2E1: Liked the animation, but the storyline was rather flippant, and with a troubling inconsistency [SPOILER ALERT!]The roomba was totally killing stuff with death beams throughout, but then switched to a taser on the neighbor dude for the convenience of the plot.[END SPOILER] Like I said, very very demanding.
S2E2: Better, but familiar and predictable. Just given a SF veneer.
S2E3: Yeah, pretty dark, but I thought it was solid for its length.
S2E4: [Snow in the Desert] Rotoscoped like S2E3, and I probably liked this the best so far.
Oh, and I'm learning a very important truth from this series. All butch gals are evil.
