I'd have to say it was intentional. Clearly so. It's painted, after all, not a photograph. If it'd been a photograph, we could argue that the photographer took the picture from the wrong end, and no one really... you know.... noticed. But a painting! Well, that's something altogether different. No just clicking away like mad at images occuring in nature. No sir! Canvas, baby. Blank page.
