Catherine Denueve is the potiche (trophy wife) who takes over her cheating husband’s umbrella manufacturing company that her father built. It’s a French comedy I guess. Gerald Depardieu is a politician who had a fling with Catherine in their youths and still burns a candle. Catherine’s daughter is like Ivanka. Her son looks like a young Michael York and is a socialist artist, possibly gay. There’s a secretary who cheats with Catherine’s husband but then becomes her ally and other striking workers. It might’ve been funny if I understood French.
