BIFF very explicitly stated in an email that I was not rejected. The acceptance email was a mistake but they were cagey about whether I had been accepted or not. But mainly they said I was not rejected. They way I'm reading that now in light of the most recent emails was that I was accepted and that somebody jumped the gun in sending out the email. Now, because I think they sent out the acceptance and the follow up, there is a glitch with my account in their notification system. This entire time on Film Freeway, the festival aggregator, I've always been listed as accepted. So, when they went down the list of who to send acceptance letters this last week, they skipped me because in their system, I was already listed as 'accepted' I'm still sending emails out to straighten this out and get actual VALIDATION

As for the Lift-Off Extravaganza, I don't know. The online festival is for people that didn't quite make the cut for the physical festival. So, maybe I had already been rejected and it went to the secondary category and they wanted me not knowing I had withdrawn.

To complicate matters, I've reached out to the big festival I'm in and asked them if appearing in an online festival voids the premiere status with them. If it doesn't, I'll see about appearing in the Lift-Off Festival, because why not.

I also have a letter out to TIFF to see if they can give me some clue about notifications because I don't want to screw that up by accepting the invitation to Burbank.
