I had blown this off until tg texted me about it.  We decided to check it out.  It's an IMAX experience, abstract psychedelic CGI to new age music by James Hood, whoever that is.  There was some great imagery for sure.  I was particularly taken by some of the geometrics. There was a feather and nadi line series of images that were overused however, and a blue comet that left a trail of stardust was an annoying reoccurring theme, like a blue tinkerbell trailing pixie sparkle fart dust.  Plus James didn't need to narrate.  His talk was too woo-wooey and his music repetitive, playing one of those hand gong things (neither tg nor i could remember what they're called).  I also have this issue with kaleidoscopic images - I've stared into them for too long or overdosed on them too much, so now my mind breaks down the segment and sees through it.  Fortunately the images chosen to kaleidoscope were good calls for the most part - Islamic tile, old growth wood grains, rock formations.  In a nutshell, Mesmerica didn't hold a candle to Samskara (see http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...4#pid23844) but dm was in a different frame of mind for that.

The xmas faire at Cesar Chavez was going strong and in retrospect, I wish we had checked out that led tree.  My favorite part of the evening was commiserating with tg about being back in the SiValley as caretakers for our moms.  It was a fun night - very distracting - and enjoyable just chatting with another DOOM bro.  Thanks again tg!
