It's my martial arts world
CMAT had a staggeringly low turn out. Mostly kids and Tai Chi, my least favorite thing to shoot. Everyone greets me with 'How's it going?' and I usually just deflect that and turn it around.  They don't really want to know and I don't really care to share. As always, there are dozens of people who know me and I don't have a clue who they are, so I smile and nod and say 'How's it going?'

I've been going to this tournament since I was a competitor (I retired in '95 - it started in '92).  I can't remember missing a single one, but maybe.  This is the first time I went to the afterparty, which was rather tame, the Tap Hauz, which only sells beer so I indulged in a few Guinnesses, blood sugar be damned.  It was good to get out, to shoot the shit with other KF nerds, to get my mind off my troubles. Spent most of the evening chatting with our staff writer and two former wushu champs, one of which has been doing stunt work for the last 7 years (did a fight with Brad Pitt and stunts for Bahubali). Didn't get in until 1AM, spent the night listening to Jonny's sonorous apnea, and then the alarm went off at 6 and again ten mins later because we only hit the snooze (we didn't set it).

Food was trays of veggies and veggie chow fun at lunch both days, a veg burger and a 10 year Talisker, followed by a jaymo for dinner at Pappys, and an excellent benedict at Venus for breaky.

I'm pretty spent now tho.  I guess I've been spent for weeks now.  The drive home was challenging to stay awake.
