I decided to give this a gander despite DM's wave-off. Should have listened to DM.
I really couldn't grok or identify with any of the characters, or when I did think I was understanding, they'd do something wildly out of character, or some incident or action would occur that I found totally implausible. Dwindling credibility from the very first scene (J-Law as a Russian prima ballerina who suffers a compound fracture of the leg on stage [doing virtually nothing] that ends her career?!!!), and yes, too many degrading and nude scenes without any justifiable basis.
Based on the book of the same name by Jason Matthews, who, a former member of the CIA, advised the production on the depiction of spying. You'd think that would give the movie's shenanigans some clout. But I'm calling bullshit on him. He doesn't know anything about human nature or how the Russians would train its sparrows, or how to motivate anyone to do anything. Very amateurish effort, to my mind. I'm sorry to see J-Law and Charlotte Rampling lured into this one. And no, I'm not going to read the book to ascertain that Greg is right that it's crap. I'll trust him on that.

I'm nobody's pony.
