So I have completely reverted to vinyl listening.
Yes - In the car or at work I play my FLAC/MP3s, but at home it is strictly records. I bought an 80's mid-level Technics turntable at the Oakland flea market, replaced the cartridge with a mid-level Audio-Technica cartridge + stylus and am happy as a clam.
I subscribed to a "Record of the Month" club ("VinylMePlease.com") and am rebuilding my collection record-by-record.
Now I am addicted to the "llimited edition colored vinyl, dual gatefold, 12-page liner note remastered release <insert classic title here>" but I get such a hit of endorphins when I place the needle on the record.
I almost feel like I'm atoning for selling CDs that cost 10 cents to make for $18 at Tower.
I bought shelves to rotate my record covers and can't believe we ever thought 5" x 5" artwork was good enough.
If you are ditching your LP collection I will haull them away for free.
