AKA The Fox Seduction.
Not a Shaw film - a newer Chinese 3D FantASIA starring the venerable Kara Hui as the 9-tailed fox mom and the ever-cute Gillian Chung as the star crossed Fox fairy lover. It's probably better in 3D. The effects are bad wirework and weak CGI. This also probably looked great in production with the promise that the effects would redeem really fake looking sets and the Sea Bat demon villain's lame Nosferatu make up. I kept thinking I would bail because Kara was overshadowed by her 9 hottie 'daughter fairies' but then got caught up in the romance of sacrifice - so Chinese that. It's a silly film, surely sillier if you aren't familiar with the trappings of Chinese Fox myths, but it's got pretty dresses in overdone anime colors and some swords. Not recommended here though.
