Extraction (2015)
#1
A Kellan Lutz vehicle. I had to imdb him. He was in Twilight and Heroes apparently. Mainly I checked this out for Gina Carano. Bruce Willis is in this too. Both Gina and Bruce are underused. The fights are choppy - one action, one cut - and they all have the same moral: when losing, hit your opponent with something inanimate like a cinder block, billiard balls, fire extinguisher, toilet cover, pipe, etc. I was amused in one fight that started out with an opponent with a machine gun, then after that was lost the opponent whipped out a keibo, and then Kellan says 'shit'. Simple plot, ridiculous in many places. Kellan has 24 hours to get from Prague to Jersey to rescue Bruce (playing his CIA dad). Most of that time would be travel. Gina is ok, but doesn't get to fight nearly enough. She's more expressive than in her previous films, starting to learn to act (at least enough for a B spy thriller like this) but she still needs to work on her voice and her complexion looked very porous. Sometimes people juicing have skin like that but she looked less buff than usual. She plays Kellan's ex-gf and cia comrade and there's almost chemistry. Gina snogs a hottie and almost pole dances, however neither scene really goes for it. The film falls short a little at every scene culminating in an overall blandness. Too bad really as there might have been potential if some elements were just amplified a little more.
