It's along the lines of Do the Dew, Mountain Dew's hpyercaffinated soda. Redbull, like Rockstar and a host of other power drinks, is sugar, caffiene, but most important, taurine. Taurine is ox bile (think Taurus) and was available in Asia long before the FDA allowed it here. I remember trying it in Beijing with a friend who had heard about it through snowboarder circles. Back then, it was being smuggled into the states by extreme sports kids. It's hugely popular in Thailand and a major sponsor of Muay Thai over there, even larger than Singha beer is, which should give you some idea of the magnitude of its effects. It's a definate rush, different than just caffeine, or even guarana. Combine them all and you get something volatile and legal that will probably give you a good burst of energy for an hour, and then leave you with a headache. I got addicted to it in Thailand, but managed to break the habit easily once I was out of the tropics. In Asia, it's seen more like Gatorade is here, sort of a sports hydration supplement. Here, it's being marketed as a X-treme lifestyle drink, the cocaine of sodas if you will. It's completely unregulated. You should try a can. Or maybe a four pack. Hell, just buy a whole case. It'll help you keep up with Benzilla.
