Set in the near future in a world where a portion of the population have been locked into their heads because of a Pandemic (look at me resisting the urge to write world wide pandemic!) Lock In is a very dull story about the murder of one a Lock In or Hayden as they are called.
It was just one info dump after another. Let's talk about the Hayden's. Let's talk about the disease. Let's talk about the end of the Hayden act. There wasn't a lot of plot. All the characters were two dimensional without a lot of depth.
I think the bloom is off the rose with Scalzi for me. I didn't think Redshirts was all that good. Lock In was meh. I thought Human Division was just more of the same in the Old Man's War World.
Scalzi needs to fond a new schtick.
