The bites started to spread so I got worried that it was bubonic plague or something. So I went to the doctor, which I've been meaning to do as I just crossed that big half century mark. Hey, you elder DOOM bros should have warned me what an ordeal it is to visit the doctor when you're past 50. My doc got me set up on lisonopril for my high blood pressure and I have to go back next week to see how the meds are taking, plus take an additional full blood test (which I was planning to do anyway). She also sent me home with a 'poop' test kit, which if i fail, means a colonoscopy, which is really the 'playing doctor' scenario gone horribly horribly wrong. that's karma for ya. and i got some antihistamine meds (which cause drowsiness so i won't take them until tomorrow evening) and a topical itch cream for the bites. The dermatologist said it likely is bites and they may have come home with me in my luggage, which happens quite a lot apparently, so much so that many dermatolotgists leave their luggage in the garage for a week after coming home from a trip (great plan, if only i had a garage). So it was a relief to know that it isn't the plague, just my general tastiness to parasites again. Such is karma.
