So there I was, in the hotel, hoping that my daughter's fever would break so she and my wife could join the party, receiving tons of random texts from the groom-2-b late into the night (and way early in the morning). Nerves? Of course. The hotel TV was wacked because it required two clickers - half of the functions worked on one and the rest on the other with very little rhyme or reason. I was also wrestling with insomnia, for which I lay full blame on LB, but that's another story entirely (he actually saved me by giving me a ride down).

So I watched Prometheus and was so glad that I didn't pay for it on iTunes like I was thinking of doing. Oh man. Major suckage. I liked Noomi. She looked ripped but still wasn't as macho as Ripley. I liked the aliens. I even thought Noomi's alien-ectomy was kind of funny. But the rest was a complete waste. Giger was so essential to Alien, and they completely lost that aesthetic. This makes Alien Resurrection look as good as Search for Spock (I have no idea what that means - my brain is still smeared across I-5)

I know, I know, this is a minor aside to the weekend's festivities, but all I could think about while watching it (and replying to G's texts) was that the only redemption was I could post here on this thread about how bad this was. Not even a sword fight could have saved this.
