Back to FXSF to catch Danny’s talk and do some Xmas shopping. Then home. I’m probably going to skip Sunday.
Had a fun nite nerding out with my KF brother Keith, who shared his hotel room. He brought his 4K projector and we watched Wheels on Meals. Expecting to hook up with Patrick today.

A stay at home day.
Laundry, some writing, starting on my expenses for taxes.
A hang out with my dog day

Put up the Christmas lights. I got a new string and they didn't fit the hooks very well and the bulb spacing didn't match my icicle lights so it took a long time because I had to use two sets of hooks. It looks good though, so it was worth it. And I got to clean the gutter while I was at it.

I put up our outdoor lights right after the election as a flailing effort to bring some cheer into the bungalow. Our outdoor string has been with us for well over a decade now. Every year I replace the burnt bulbs. I have 4 to replace this year, my annual trip to the lighting store.
Today I crawl back to the default world after 24+ hours at FXSF, my last escapist run of this year (might try to squeeze in a December show, but I’ve got nothing planned). At least the default world won’t be as jarring as coming back from Rome.
I’ve got one long ass telemeet, then work as usual, some writing, and tonight - Skeleton Crew.
Yesterday was restful and now I’m uncomfortably wired. I did not start my expenses like I hoped but I did get most of the heavy lifting done for my FXSF review. Almost tempted to work on it a bit more since my telemeet isn’t until 10, but I should sleep. Maybe some whiskey will help.

I retired my incandescent bulbs a few years ago (because it was getting hard to get replacement bulbs and I always break a few every year) and went LED, but they didn't blink, so this year I got new ones. My nephew is taking the old strands.

I've decided to do 280 time code entries before I head off to dinner.

We have a killer lighting store right a few blocks away - all manner of lamps and bulbs. My annual pilgrimage there for new bulbs is part of my holiday ritual. I only wish I needed more lights. Now most of our outdoor string has been replaced with LEDs - just a few more to go...
Today I have two telemeets, then a visit to mom to see how she's faring after her fall last weekend. It's work & writing like usual. Stacy went up to SF this morning for a yoga class and a crown replacement (she's very attached to her dentist up there) so it's my & Yukz until I head to svale...

Get up and go home. Work & write. I just need a bridge paragraph to get me from role models to taiko. Then I need to sort some snakes.

Cutting, sorting, more cutting. I need to generate more questions for interview two of Tu. I've realized in our relationship, I'm the colonizer.

He's Taiwanese. Better a colonizer than Japanese...

I guess you're glad that's over......
At least you weren't half Dutch.

Not really. It was kinda funny. There would be these side comments that I could call out. Gigi was probably the most prejudice, but that may have been because I worked more closely alongside her.
The Japanese occupation is fresher in the memory of Taiwanese than the Dutch. At least that's my impression from working with that communtiy for so long. Taiwan is a fascinating country. My two days spent in the airport just whet my appetite.
