S3e1: the recap totally lost me. I was like ‘When the heck did that happen? Have I forgotten that much? Don’t make me go back and rewatch s2…’ but then there was a nice opening swordfight and nothing else mattered. I remember well enough.
E1 gets s3 off to a fine start. Cavill’s Witcher is still cool. Yennifer is still smokin hawt. Ciri is still a pup. The bard is still annoying yet entertaining as comic relief. And the end of ep sword fight is excellent, complete with a whirlingly complex oner so Cavill can really show his sword skills.
Only 5 eps for s3 so far. I’m in. This should go quickly.

E2 was super Lovecraft with the demon. That won me over. The rest of the intrigues get complicated but it is what it is.
E3 goes back to Yennifer’s training place and and there are a few deaths of major supporting cast. I suspect there will be more. They’re lining up the exit of Cavill. Cork’s visions are getting real.

Ep01 Who are all these people and what are they doing. The Queen made the same comment about the recap "I don't remember any of these stories" All I know is the show needs more dwarves. Good fight scenes.

That’s somewhat reassuring to learn that my memory isn’t too far gone compared to tQ’s.
I got a bit lost by ep3 regarding who was who and what was what, but it doesn’t matter that much. I’ve got the main characters straight and there’s enough sword fights to keep me engaged.

I think we saw the end of Ep02 and all of Ep03 to celebrate July 4th. I still have no idea what is going. In Ep03 they were off to find the training school which I thought was the big Tower on the edge of the sea and instead they find Yennifer's teach in some random town. I can't remember who is who.
I thought this video might help. It doesn't. Is there a mind wipe thing happening at the end of every season?

E4 seen last night. The political intrigues are a tad confusing but then there’s swordfights and monsters so it’s all good. I’m still entertained as long as I don’t get trapped in trying to unravel it all. I’m not that invested that I need every detail to fit. Honestly, how could you watch any fantasy if your beholden to that?
It’s all leading up to the conclave.
And the exit of Geralt.

Oh wth?!? That can’t be it for Geralt. They must be dividing season 3 into 2 parts. It’s an odd ep because it’s the pre-party to the conclave which gives the costume designers an excuse to go wild. Awesome costumes. The writers try to be clever and do a rashomon style ep where the same sequence of events are played out from different perspectives, each time revealing a bit more whilst the troubadours (not the minstrel - far worse but intentionally so) sing about how everything isn’t as it seems. That kinda worked. It’s a bit overdone and at one point I thought I accidentally rewound it. But it definitely did NOT feel like a season 3 finale, nor the end of Geralt.
I feel deceived…

I thought I had accidentally rewound the episode as well. If you are going to have a full nudity love scene between Gerald and Yennifer, can we get a few more lights on the action. What a waste. Kind of clever once I realized I hadn't rewound the episode. I do like the minstrels bard feud. Still trying to keep the factions straight.
July 29th is when the second half of the season drops.

The conclave - which in Witcher means a big ol battle. This ep is full of fights and magic and death. Lots of betrayal and blood. Unfortunately I kinda forgot who was who so some of the politics got lost on me, but there’s was plenty of action including some decent sword fights. Geralt, Yennifer & Ciri split up at the end.
The penultimate ep has Ciri alone in the desert hallucinating. The hallucinations were weak. The lizard eating was amusing but a bit of a let down after all the action in the previous ep. Despite being such a central character, I don’t find Ciri that engaging.
Tonight I’ll probably watch the season finale…

Kind of lost touch with The Witcher. Don't feel compelled to get through the remaining episodes.

I’m curious how the end of Geralt will play out.
