S3 Ep02 Some really fun action scenes but not a lot of individual story being told. The previous seasons each episode had its own arc. This season seems to be one long story that just stops every 40 minutes or so.

Darksaber & Bo-Katan action! Yaaaaasssss!

Plus Morlocks and giant borg spiders!

The show is really playing up the Clone Wars and Rebels stories. I should rewatch the Darksaber saga in Clone Wars. I remember what happened in Rebels but I didn’t watch all of Clone Wars so there’s some gaps.

In a galaxy far, far away, Yetis are called Wampas.

Not sure what Morlocks are called. I think they said it in the ep but I missed it.

Well that was good. A Star Wars spaceship dogfight. And then a side trip into a whole new story arc showing a new vision for the galaxy. Then the mandalorians reunite with Din & Bo. Nice.

Ep03 Was that good? I did like the space battle. I did feel bad for Bo. But what the hell was going on Coruscant? Should I know or recognize those characters? I feel like the woman has popped up before.

I'm still waiting for this season's story to start.

I enjoyed the new perspective on Coruscant. The notion of a post Empire reframe was interesting. And the Clone controversy is something that plays out in Clone Wars, Rebels, & Bad Batch. Watching Mandalorian and not being at least passingly familiar with the animated arcs is like watching Force Awakes without seeing Return of the Jedi. Bo & the dark saber come from the cartoons. That’s where the Mandalore saga happens.

It had a very Andor feel about it, full of intrigue and wickedness.

I'm pretty clear on Bo and the Dark Saber at this point. Time to go read some posts on the SciFi sights to find out what I should know.

Yes I like that Andor vibe.

Instead of reading scifi sites, go to fandom and search Bo or Dark Saber and you can get a list of all the eps where they appear. Then you can cherry pick your way through the story arc instead having to watch it all. That what I do when I review.

E4? A lot of Grogu which is good but kind of a flat ep beyond that. Pterodactyl chicks.

Ep 04 The Mandalorians really need to stop hanging out at that beach. As some have proposed, this is going to be the Bo-Katan Season and this episode reinforced that. Easter Egg hunt showed that one of the Jedis was the actor who played Jar-Jar. That was a pretty good battle on Coruscant.

This season has mostly been big set pieces tied together with bits of story.

Well, they get off the beach. A nice ep for Mandalorian ass kicking. The dogfight/firefight was entertaining. 

But the best part for me was Zeb & Appa. Zeb was a major character in Rebels, part of thr crew - the muscle like Wrecker in Bad Batch. Zeb is a great character and I hope this show comes back to him.
