Ms. Marvel (2022)

Seek and you shall find. The Karachi sequence was shot in Bangkok, Thailand.

E5; A tone shift with a trip back in time to one of India’s darkest moments under colonial rule. It starts with vintage newsreel footage then skips to an improbable love story and comes back around to family history to resolve something that the series has been working towards - and it’s a time travel paradox. But this but this is the MCU where entertainment defies logic and we just don’t dwell on such plot holes. We just move towards the next funny bit or Easter egg.

This ends next week, right? I’ve enjoyed it for its representation and will be eager to see how it fits into the Marvels movie next year. I’m curious to see if it’ll stick the landing.

It was a big detour. Very little Ms. Marvel. But a lot of great-grandma Marvel. I did enjoy the depiction of Patition. I just went and read about the Easter Eggs. I thought for sure there would be another Kango reference.

I don't know what I will do after next week's finale and I wait for the premiere of She-Hulk.

I feel ya. Had a decent D+ run with this an Obi. Maybe I’ll tuck into Westworld or Harley Quinn.

Kingo would’ve been great but jarring to the tone of what this episode was trying to do.

Be careful out there. A lot of Ms. Marvel spoilers out there about the final episode.

Thanks for the heads up. Lowering the blast shield blinders now. I'll watch this tonight.

Well, there wasn’t too much to spoil. Everything wrapped up in a climactic battle at the high school (it’s a teen story after all). It finished well - classy in its Muslim representation all the way through. I was talked to a dog park friend and her husband never heard about the partition - they loved the show and it sent them into researching history, which is awesome.

This is probably packed with Easter eggs but I’ll have to read Den articles to find out. And the after credit scene I totally knew what was going to happen - well not exactly so but it was obvs.

Nevertheless, thumbs up overall. Another fun D+ MCU series.

It was fine. A better episode than more recent episodes. People had things to do. I love Kamala's family especially the reveal. Scenes seem to run on too long. I still look for a point to this whole season. Was it anything beyond the origin of Ms. Marvel?

I did some research to find out why some things were important and why things went the way they did. Learned more about the last two end credit scenes

In the end, fine.

The point of Ms. Marvel from its very beginning in print has always been inclusion. And there, it's been a success.

As for the point of the MCU overall, entertainment and merchandising? I suppose I could learn more if I ventured into Marvel's Hall H but that is the hardest one to get into of all. You literally have to camp out the night before. But then again, maybe that's the play for Thursday night if I don't get my room sorted.

Ya

I confess I got a bit misty when Kamala’s mom gave her the gift at the beginning. There was something so sweet and powerful about that scene - the climax of their relationship arc.

My favorite scene was when she had something big to tell the family.

Yeah, tried to watch it. Really liked the style of the show, liked the music a lot. My tolerance for teen angst is pretty low since I work with kids, however, and I finally threw in the towel. Maybe when I’m done teaching kids…
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

You will never be done. It is your destiny.

After you die, kids will fence on your grave and stab your tombstone.
