First shot in the bag. I can feel the autism slowly creeping in.

Something else to watch for is chemtrails briefly resolving into skywriting messages (secret QAnon exchanges).
BTW, just got my second Moderna. Don't feel anything yet. Can't even tell there was a shot in the arm. It better release the Kraken soon or I'll worry I got a dud.

Quote:California launches way any resident can become vaccine eligible
Health care workers check the information of two people preparing to get a COVID-19 vaccination at the mass vaccination site opened to the public at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum Complex in Oakland, Calif. on Feb. 16, 2021. The site is expected to deliver up to 6,000 shots of COVID-19 vaccine a day.
The state of California launched a new program Friday that gives the residents the opportunity to get vaccinated by volunteering to help get others inoculated at sites across the state.
MyTurnVolunteer is an online tool that allows you to look for clinics and mass vaccine sites seeking help based on your zip code.
"If you sign up on the tool, you'll be able to register for a general support or medical positions, depending on your background," said Cristina Valdivia Aguilar, a spokesperson for California Volunteers. "You can find a location near your home."
Medical volunteers — including registered nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and dentists — may assist in vaccination efforts, whether prepping vaccines or injecting and observing patients. Nonmedical volunteers may assist with tasks like providing in-language support, greeting vaccine recipients, sanitizing surfaces, directing traffic, and registration.
While some locations are asking for eight-hour shifts, Aguilar said if you work four hours or more, you can receive a vaccine with approval from the clinic administrator—even if you're not eligible within the state's framework that's prioritizing health care workers, seniors and some essential workers such as teachers.
"If you volunteer for four hours or more you're classified within one of the tiers," she said. "You're classified as a community health worker from the California essential workforce list."
Many locations are asking for volunteers to be 18 years old or older, but it's dependent on the site, she said.
The program is new and on Monday morning opportunities remained limited but Aguilar said volunteers will be able to find locations near them as more opportunities become available.
"We were at a site in Los Angeles on Friday and they need 200 volunteers a day," she said. "It's a really big site... the Kedren Community Health Center in South Los Angeles. It's a great way to feel like a part of the solution and like you're helping in a pandemic."
The state-sponsored volunteer campaign is also calling on residents to help educate family and friends in their communities about the vaccine by downloading and sharing materials and offering to schedule a vaccine appointment for a neighbor or or offer a ride.

This whole effort seems labor-intensive. Not certain how many are volunteers at the Rengstorff Park site. So many workers, so much organization.
Much harder than starting a fire in a trashcan and standing around tossing your masks into the conflagration.
Anyway, the Kraken has surfaced. Chills never felt so good.

Stacy's shots went swimmingly.

That would explain the laughing and pointing at me as I was writhing in pain. Assholes.
One of my younger, stronger coworkers got the one-shot J&J yesterday. He looked like hell today. Said it started last night and has been going strong today. Hopefully it will taper off tonight.
The J&J Kraken is *fast*.

Well, that was a little whiff of hell. Still sniffling from all of that brimstone.
We got in my car to head to the vax center and got caught in a hailstorm. A major hailstorm. Like a visibility 20 feet on the highway hailstorm. Hail? srsly?
We got to Levi's only to be told that they were shutting down because of the lightning storm. We were told to wait in our car for 15-20 mins. I repositioned my car into an ADA space which was much closer to the gate. Lightning? srsly?
The storm broke and we got in line. It was huge because everyone had been waiting in our cars. And there was a good half inch of running water across it from the cold rain and hail. As we approached, security re-routed the barriers to send us down and back a long empty waiting line row. Couldn't have done that after we went through, could he?
We got through security and up to the check-in, only to be told we were in the wrong vax center. srsly?
Who the fuck puts two major vax centers right across the street from each other?
Sure, sure, I should've read the email more carefully, but once we were in the vax zone, all the signage shunted us to Levi's. I dropped her off at curbside and parked again in ADA. There were piles of ice right next to all of the ADA parking spots.
My mom's vax center was right across the street at the convention center. We got in and there was a maze of tense barriers, which we cut through along with some other seniors in tow. My years as a movie theater usher made me a master of tense barriers.
Finally we got her 2nd shot.
And we're done. My mom, wife and daughter all have their vaxes (Tara gets her 2nd soon).
I'm still waiting. I'm not even in range yet despite being high risk.
The FOMO is real.

Apologies beforehand, everyone, for a mixed metaphor beyond the pale. The Kraken has jumped the shark. In fact, I checked Testimonials here first to make certain I was still alive. There's some exaggeration going on here; still, I've got some nasty chills, a headache, likely a fever, and maybe bladder infection, and all my joints ache. Some stomach upset too. Just a heads up to all. Perhaps the most dangerous system is dehydration. According to the official DOOM Medical Reference, the best liquid to drink for dehydration is ... everything but sea water.
No regrets getting this. But it's hit me a lot harder than I expected.

This is me 24/7.
srsly.
Our dear KF brother Marc V. said his 2nd shot kicked his ass like a monster 24 hour flu. He went down for the count for a day and was texting me and a few medical friends from under his bed covers.
Stacy didn't even notice. We'll see how my mom does...

My mom got her 2nd shot at Levi's today. She was probably there when you were DM as she said they made her ride out the storm in her car as well. After that, she said that things went pretty routine and she came home. (much better than last time when she waited for hours in line and didn't bring a chair).
I'll check on her later this afternoon for the krakens.
