217: I must take my mom to the dentist first thing. I'll do a grocery run while she's getting her work done. Then probably off to Tiger Claw, then a quick stop in Scott's Valley to refill our water bottles, then back to the bungalow. I'll probably have some miscellaneous tasks for my various jobs squeezed in the gaps too.

218: weekly telemeeting with ymaa, plus tasks for my main three - ymaa, KFM & Den (Immortal is awaiting the start of production of issue 2). Kung fu tonight - yay - it’s my only social activity beyond taking Yuki to the dog park.

219: I have 2 large tasks to do this weekend - 1 for YMAA & 1 for KFM + an interview to finish for KFM. Plus I should finish my next Warrior review for Den. I’m going to try to knock them all out today.

When I was raised in PA, the night before Halloween was Mischief Night. Pranks were carried out - mostly lame stuff like TPing house and smashing jackolanterns. I was too young to participate but the ritual stuck with me.

I have no plans for Halloween. No costume either. That’s never happened for me ever. Maybe I’ll watch some Addams Family. I’ve got Kung Fu in the morn and maybe I’ll break out some robes. I don’t know. It’s bummin me out.

I keep wanting to buy one of those 12' tall skeletons for the yard. I don't because it would probably never be seen by the neighbors and just become a climbing tree for the destruction.

You could always hire a skywriter to blaze BOO across the sky.  I mean, 3 letters?  How much could it cost?

Actually 4.  You need the exclamation point, and they'll likely count that as a letter.  It just won't work without.

If you're cash-strapped, you could always go with just an exclamation point.  Actually, I'm thinking that might be better.

But how would anyone see the sky writing at night?

I want the 12' skeleton too. I was thinking of trying to cram it in the front room, or in a car, to look like it got stuck and died there.

We're going to make aluminium-foil hats and "go" as Qanon. Go means stay at home and drop candy from the balcony to any kids that do show up.

I've decorated the front porch with two small hanging pumpkins that I've painted with glow-in-the-dark paint and poked with 3" neon-pink golf tees, so they look very covid-y. I also had this green icosahedron lamp from Om Gallery that my daughter gave me years ago. I finally put that together and hung it off the balcony to add to the germ effect. I had a pumpkin head ghoul that my mom passed on to me from her old Halloween decorations. I put a black hoodie on it and a skull neck-warmer (the ones I gave out at Doom xmas) and parked him on the porch bistro set. Then I made a chess set using old wine corks and a board my son had made in wood shop a long time ago. So kids can stop by and play chess with death. Lastly, I took a cardboard box and made it into a 2020 dumpster fire. The Martha Stewart blue spray paint that was on sale at Michaels is the perfect recycle-bin blue.

I have too much time on my hands this year. I'll post a picture when I get a good one...

thatguy is putting us all to shame. In my defense, no one will be coming by the house.

My wife put out pumpkins and rubber snakes on the porch. And she decorated some inside. (I'm very fond of the large toad - I sort of want to leave him out with a Santa hat on.) There are only about two kids, and no streetlights on our street, so we only ever get maybe 10-20 kids; this year we'll just leave the outside lights off.

220: Happy Halloween.
I’ve got Kung Fu in the morning and I’ll robe up and bring one of my best swords. I got so many robes. That’s as costumesque as it gets this year. Then I’ll probably work - got some stuff for YMAA & Den to do. Then Stacy and I will hide in the back of the bungalow and watch vids over decaf Irish coffees. I’m thinking the Addams Family Halloween special on hoopla. She’ll go to bed earlier than me and I’ll just mope.

221: Dia de Los muertos - my other fav holiday. I need to finish my ymaa & Den work and do laundry and odd chores.

I should mention that there’s a ‘socially distanced’ reggae happening this weekend. This is put on by a local sound system but none of the acts were notable. It started yesterday and goes through to today at a secret spot in the Santa Cruz mountains. There is even camping. Some friends were donning industrial gas masks to attend. I wasn’t tempted. As much as I’ve been craving some big bass, and how much I enjoy underground events, this didn’t feel safe at all. I hope it doesn’t turn into a super spreader event.

222 - Wasn't there a sitcom called this?

Well, it doesn't feel like a sitcom today. More of a tragedy than a comedy. A sittraj.

Been tackling morning assignments from all 4 jobs. Feelin very Jamaican especially because this is Haile Selassie's coronation day. Ok, not really. I went grocery shopping while hungry and spent way too much but I'm well stocked for the week. I'll probably head downtown for a quick errand and to see a new dragon I've heard tell about, plus just to get out.
