Happ Validation Day!. Today I'm hoping to hear good news from the Genre Blast Film Festival in Virginia. Do I think I will hear good news? No. But I can still hope.

I think I got a ridiculous discount on the entry fee, which is why I entered. I also got an email from the IMPACT Docs festival offering some big discounts as well. If I want a win, I can always enter there. Everyone wins at IMPACT DOCS and then you can buy yourself a trophy from them to show you've won. I'm not at that point. Yet.

IMPACT?

Wait, do you mean this?

I was heavy into that station back before my mom broke her back. Watched it all the time. Lots of sword fights.

Or do you mean the African American Xtian network?

Or is this a different IMPACT altogether?

Sadly, not that cool. They did give us an award of Merit for The Last Captain.

Should we rebrand these as ‘invalidation days’?

Too soon?

No worries mate. Your day shall come.

Once again, the unkindest cut.

I was using Validation Days ironically.

I was looking forward to seeing what the Edmonton IFF had to say about me on July 15. But a quick check of the notification schedule shows the notification date has been changed to August. They had looked at the film twice immediately after I sent it so I had some hope. I still have hope now I just have to wait longer.

I realized today why I wasn't so twisted up about notifications after The Last Captains. I very cleverly started work on Stro to keep me busy.

You know what'll make you feel better. Starting on DM & Yeti. We make you feel better. You feel better long time.

tQ's idea is we do a modern take of the two of you in the Bay Area as you battle for a mythic sword using your respective eastern and western disciplines. tQ also suggested there would be a lot of DM's cub coming in and saying "Oh, Dad" in a very disappointed voice.

Been there, done that, at least in a euphemistic sense with Yeti.

Yeah, alotta water under that bridge between dm & yeti. If only you had filmed it at the time. Now the best action you'll get out of us is us warming up. Not a euphemism. Just another sad comment on our aging battle-weary bodies.

It would be 90 minutes of each of trying to let the other capture the "Mystical Sword of Sanguineous Fate" because we're both too old to be bothered with the grueling grind of a Real Heroic Adventure ™.

Cub's part would remain unchanged.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
