That was very nice, G-Man. I think you may have killed DM with it.

Of course, your sternum demeanor demands respect for your puns

I cleavage to what I know. Tell me more of DM's demise because I like to keep abreast of the news.

I already used “abreast”. Minus 10 points for Hufflepuff.

That DM feller has been scarce today. Seems like he might have been occupied.

If you could wrap Maeve and Dani in wool, you’d get “sweater puppies”

DM’s probably off gland-handing the local martial artists.

I wonder if he sent his mother a Mom-o-gram for mother’s day?

He needs some sun — he’s looking a little pasties.

With his publishing acumen, he could do a nice coffee-table book of Shaolin. A nice pectoral volume.

Damn Hufflepuffs.

So, the festivals are messing with me. I checked my submission notification list and the one that was supposed to report tomorrow was gone.

What?

They pushed their notification by a month and neglected to tell me. The same went for the Munich Film Festival which was supposed to report next week. They pushed back a couple of weeks as well. You would think they would send out emails telling people they had rescheduled.

Good thing I check every ten minutes or so. No screw ups this time.

I've been watching similar things happen in the music circles. The concert industry is collapsing - it's devastating for a lot of my friends there.

And as a (former) promoter with TCEC, I can sympathize with the logistics end. We got out early before we had too much money on the table, but I imagine it's very tricky for some. San Jose has already been pressing Jonny about rescheduling - TC has a credit for some of the non-refundable deposits. But Jonny won't move on that until things settle, both with TC and the world.

I read yesterday that LA will be extending their stay at home/SIP through July. The Valley Film Festival is supposed to go on the first week in August. The SF Doc Fest, the festival that gave me the momentum to finish, is supposed to start July 1.

I keep having these conflicting thoughts of "Boy, it will be fun to go to these festivals, if I'm selected" and "I really don't know if I want to get in airplane at this point"

It's a puzzlement. Going out at this point just seems like a roll of the dice since we don't know where the disease is concentrated at this point.

I finished the transcript yesterday. Lots of references to My Sorrow. I had a hell of a time looking up the spelling of Poujardieu, who was the coach down at Fort Sam.

Things are slowing down at Vimeo, too. The weirdest location I have for viewing is Indiana. None of my festivals are even close to there. And yet I have two viewings in Brownsburg and one in Evansville. None of the people I interviewed are in those places. It's a puzzlement.

This morning, I noticed they finally watched a good chunk of the film in Istanbul. Which gives me a little relief since I have a notification coming in from Anatolia Film Festival on Saturday.

Time to go cut some shorts of all the other footage.

Poujardieu was a distributor of AFS goods back in the Glory Days. Many a long phone conversations with him and his thick French accent. Very engaging colorful character. He passed away while I was still at AFS.

I totally had a tracheotomy story - Stro's version, what he told me when we were partying once - but I don't think I mentioned in in my interview.

You didn't. Bastard. It's like you were trying to not be in the movie.
