Woohoo. I'm watching the full movie again today with an eye towards color grading and an ear for audio levels.

I'm still waiting on the score from my composer. I hope to see bits of it soon.

Still came out of it with three pages of notes. That's not worrying at all.

Overall, I think I did a good job with the audio and the color grading. Two of the speakers have absolutely horrific background noise, which I hope I can fix.

My friend Lyndell just sent me a WIP photo of the poster he is doing. It's awesome. He said he was going to finish it whether I liked it or not.

And I have a sound guy delivering cleaned up audio tracks.

Later today, I'm going to get the first pieces of music from the composer.

When you start a post, "Good things are happening!" I wince a bit, suspecting you're being cynical.  But this all sounds rock-solid good.

Hoping it stays that way.

BTW, on Wednesday it hailed here in Mountain View for some 15 minutes (the garden briefly turned white, but the seedlings survived).  I am viewing it as a good omen for me and everyone I know.

Because what else could it be?

I've been trying to come up with a witty comeback to Makesalottasense all morning.  I give up.

Yeah, the music isn't going to be easy or done quickly. I'm not liking about half of it.

I've watched the movie with music twice today. Some is good. Some just doesn't seem to work. On the Last Captain when we added the music, it was like a blessing from God. It really amplified what was there. The music for Stro seems to be fighting with the picture instead of enhancing it. Or the emotions of the music are opposite of what the picture is doing.

I'm not going to be ready by Tuesday. I'll send the promoters an email and see if there is another option.
