The Move to Awahnee
In more news that money is escaping me with a furious whoosh sound, I dropped my iPhone at the new house. Just a little drop from the back of my car onto the road. Shattered the face. Now, I get to buy a new phone as well as Title Insurance.

Okay. We just moved the intensity of the home sell-buy process to 11. My Los Angeles thinks we can sell the LA home and use the proceeds to buy the Wild Cat Station home on the same day without the necessity of getting the home loan. This would save me some big dough.

I just have to get out of this house and into that house in a short amount of time. The LA home buyers have to agree to let us be here for several days after the close of Escrow as well.

Balls in the air. Time to chase my tail.

No word about the missing fridge.

We are less than two weeks out to the move. I have yet to lock down our movers. But the plan is to follow the first container up to Raymond and unload it. Come back Sunday. Load up second container on Monday. Have it picked up Monday and follow it up. At that point there shouldn't be any furniture in the house so why stay.

We are doing two trips because we want to use one trip to take up the electronics gear and small breakables. On the second trip, we are bringing the pets. I'm looking forward to capturing the cats and then spending 4 hours in a car with them, especially since they have never been in a car. Their trauma level is going to be high.

Let the Dance of the Moving Containers commence.

One of the dangling threads of the move is the actual move. I've been playing phone tag with UNITS, our moving container provider. Just like PODS only not called PODS. They finally figured out how to do the move and called me today.

They will be picking up the UNIT that has been sitting in front of the house for the last three months on Wednesday May 8. And for one glorious day, there will be no UNIT blocking the front of the house. On Friday May 10th our second UNIT will arrive. On May 11th UNIT 1 will be dropped off at the Lynch Lair at Wild Cat Station. The Queen and I will travel up from Los Angeles with our cars loaded with Electronics goods and other fragile objects. Havoc and Mayhem and the remaining free range ferals will remain behind at this point.

On Sunday, UNIT 1 gets picked up and we return to Los Angeles.

On Monday, movers arrive to help us load the furniture into UNIT 2. The Queen and I spend one last night in the empty house on our recently purchased mattress. Early Tuesday, UNIT 2 is picked up. It will be delivered by the following Saturday. The Queen and I load up dogs and cats and drive back to Lynch Lair. That will be our last night in Lynch Manor.

how exciting!

i must confess that i'll miss the ol' lynch manor.  i think i've imposed on your hospitality there than any of the other places of any of my friends.

best of luck with the move!

Start a whole new tradition of imposing on Lynch Lair at Wildcat station. We just bought a new Queen size bed set and it will have it's own room. No more sleeping on the couch in the living room or fighting with the cats in the Queen's Office. Taking reservations now.

Right on!

I'm thinking instead of the gateway to Disneyland where we start out all happy and fresh and come back totally broke, it'll be the gateway to backpacking where we start out all fresh and come back after not showering for a week.

Which is why we will have a tent in the garden.

One other note, it's 2 1/2 hours from Saratoga to the Lynch Lair. It's a straight shot across the Central valley to Madera and then up into the mountains. You can stop on the way at Case de Fruta.

Nice.  Is the cup flipper still alive?

Well, the sign is gone. And I really don't stop in there unless I need a bathroom break. The last two times I ate there (both times with the parents) I saw no sign of the cup flipper.

This weekend, since we are still in Los Angeles, we will be missing the Bass Lake Half-Marathon and the Coarsegold Rodeo.

I just did a web search and the last mention was 2017.  Did you know his name was Eugene?  Cuz peeps named Eugene are cool like that.

I've been tempted to check out the Renn Faire, but yeah, we seldom stop there either.

We had a big fight with mother one year as I was driving them home from Los Angeles to Saratoga and she was demanding to go to the Casa De Fruta Ren Faire. I was NFW and my father concurred. And let's point out the fact my mother couldn't walk at the time but still wanted to go.

We are a week out from buying Lynch Lair. Everyday we get documents to sign from all the various realtor and bank factions. Although, my Los Angeles realtor has spent the last week in Cabo. I know this because his wife keeps posting pictures on FB.

I spent a good portion of the morning getting my Directv moved from LA to Wildcat Station. I tried to do the same with my Landline (Yes, i still rock the Land Line) but they couldn't find a land line on Misty Ridge. So.....I might have to find other options.

The Queen has recommenced packing. I'm doing the odd jobs around the house. Starting Monday, the race to finish switches to high gear.

That stuck in my mind from years ago.  Not to be resurrecting unpleasantries, but...

What did Bruce Banner say? I'm always angry.

The unpleasantness is always there.
