The Quiet Place (2018)
#1
John Krasinski directs and stars with his wife Emily Blunt in this mostly silent post-apocalyptic horror film about monsters that kill anything that makes a sound.

My first thought was why didn't everybody build steel clad silent rooms? But I let it go, although it was always on the edge of my consciousness.

And it is a quiet film. They only amplify the noise when it attracts the monsters.

Emily and John live on a farm with their two kids and one on the way. Naturally, someone is going to make noise and draw in the monsters. But it is well done. I found myself tense knowing that noises were coming and there was nothing the cast could about them. There was some dumb peril stuff, but on the whole, it wasn't a terrible film. It did get quite the buzz when it came out and I wanted to see what all the noise was about.

See what I did there. Oddly, it was PG-13. (As was Split)
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Because it would be too noisy to build them?

This premise just sounded dumb to me.

See what I did there? Two can play at your little game.
