BTW, what's up with Dean?  Has he joined that alien species of Manzanos?  <the DOOMaestro might be the only one who will get this...>

We still need an ensemble comedy (like “Taxi”) but with AFS.

Dean is what happens when you harvest your Manzanos at the right time. Leave them on the vine too long and you get a Joe.

I had an epiphany last night that one of the stories that I loved had to go as it didn't really impact the film.

This is that story. It's told by Gene Glazer with rebuttals by Al Morales.

That makes sense.  Ever hear from Joe?  I've lost total track of so many in the fencing community.

Good cut - a cute story, especially with the interplay, but it doesn't really say anything about Stro.

Today, I finished the third section of the film. It was a lovely section with everybody talking about Stro's death.

Which means I roughly have three sections that all together make one film. Which means I have finally gotten to a point where I almost have a starting point to make the film.

The three sections together make up for a running time of about 3 and a half hours. This is misleading because I'm missing about 40 minutes of snippets that I left lying around in various other assemblages. I also have yet to to put in the stock footage (some of which I am still waiting to receive), still photos, and some narration.

But it's a start.

A couple of more years and Ill have this licked.

So what are the other two sections?  DM & PPFY?

Yeah, about that. It seems with each successive cut there is less DM and PPFY.

Now, Schifrin, I can't get enough of that guy.

Would it have helped if we wore knickers?

I love this story. It's kind of why I'm doing this movie.

Angus talks about a lesson from Stro with some help from others.

Don't share.

I crack myself up.

G-Man, did I tell you that there was a surprising amount of emotional fallout after that interview (and sitting in on Dean’s)? Echoed for a few weeks.

You crack me up, too.

At the time of the interview, you did mention that it was emotional for you. You never said it carried on for weeks. I thought the whiskey would take care of that?

In retrospect, that was a foil/saber thing.  Stro didn't give a flying fuck about epee, as long as we won.  Sure, there were rough lessons, but he didn't break us the same way he did with the other squads.

And whiskey, yaaaaaaaaassssssssssss.  Whiskey takes care of everything.

Connie Yu did point out that in Stro's view, if you can't fence, you might as well do Epee.
