X-Men: First Class
#1
This film was enjoyable even rising to the level of entertaining. It was worth price of admission.

It starts with Magneto again watching his parents get sent to the gas chambers while he destroys the gates. My guess is this is the third time this has happened in the movies. tQ says only two. It's more than one. But the film picks up right after that with a Mengeleesque character played by Kevin Bacon. He wants Erik to demonstrate his powers. Bad times ensue.

It's all the origins of the X-men. Since, I've never read the X-Men series with the exception of Frank Miller's Wolverine series, I don't know if they were faithful to the canon or not. Which means I enjoyed how Professor X met Mystique and how Hank became the Beast etc etc. It was a tight little movie set against the backdrop of the Cuban missile crisis.

We do get bog down a little bit in the mutants versus humans plot again but if we are going to talk about mutants, I guess that has to come up.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
