Soweto Gospel Choir: I've been addicted to soulful Soweto sound since Graceland. Soweto gospel? I'm so there.
Baaba Maal: Seen him many times before and have always had great affection for his talking drum players. Those big African time signatures can be a little long winded sometimes, but always enjoyable.
Angelique Kidjo: For some reason, I've never been a big fan of Kidjo. She's worked with many artists I admire - has that tune with Gabriel that's pretty cool - I saw her at RotR years ago and people were going crazy for her, but I'm just not that into her. Can't say why.
Joss Stone: Just saw her at the Warfield, mostly because I think she has great potential and now I can say I saw her when. She's quite the ingenue, a bit dwarfed by the magnitude of this event.
UB40: Pop Brit Reggae. Always satisfying, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see them again.
Vusi Mahlasela: Big on the 'did I see this person before?' list. God, I've seen so much live music, I can't freakin' remember anymore.
Zola: It's all about Zola for me. I love that Kwaito sound, ever since Tsotsi. It's so hardcore, like genuine rap used to be back in the day. I'm eagerly awaiting Zola's U.S. tour, if he could ever pull one together.
