Lydia Poet was the first female lawyer in Italy. She fought a case where she was eventually given the right to practice law. But the show starts well before that where she has just graduated from law school and has her first client, only for the legal system to decide that woman can't practice law. The case of the murdered ballerina goes to her brother and Lidia gets to act as her brother's assistant. She eventually solves the case to the amazement of the men.
Set in Torino and maybe even filmed in Torino, the film is beautifully photographed, almost as if they were making those lush renaissance paintings. And the actor who plays Lidia benefits from the most as her lighting in close up is always really well done to highlight her blue eyes.
It's kind of good story, a little bit of feminist history filmed in Italian with english subtitles.
