S2e1 had a better flow. It jumped right back into the action with the world already built. There was a decent oner fight that alternated from sped up to slow mo. And Lewis Tan appears with a sword strapped to his back and a pistol. A bit of alright.

E2 was amusing - the cast is definitely more comfortable in their roles. I’m finding the characters to be entertaining, and that’s what makes this show work for me.
Lewis Fan’s character and Alina (and another female shipmate who’s name I didn’t catch) are all about hapa representation, which I didn’t get until the had a chat about being ostracized for being half Shu.

E3: I liked the flying boat and the reveal of the pirate privateer Prince was good. The fight choreo is ok - some decent oner action made better by frantic camera work (hides the gaps and stitches better). Inej’s fight was more common 1 shot = 1 action stuff. I like the Crows and Alina. It’s distracting enough for a good eating dinner watch.

Got another ep and a half in. I’m enjoying this more now but getting a bit lost because I’m watching it so sporadically. I felt the poison gas hallucination scene was a bit of a self absorbed way to reveal back story. It’s a decent role for Lewis. Madame Hooch has really stepped up.

Finished that dangling half ep. Nice twist for Mal. It reminded me of how Harry was a horcrux. Everything in S&B reminds me of something else except its russian/Asian steampunk style. Nevertheless I was amused.

S2 seen. It was ok. The penultimate ep had Lewis executing a nice one-er fight scene.
The finale resolved the main conflicts relatively satisfactorily, but I could’ve done without the Disney death. Then there was another half hour of set up for season 3 which was too much. Just give me an end scene to tease an opening for s3. I kept checking to see how much there was to go like every 5 mins.
In the end, it was a mash up of Harry Potter and Avatar (the airbender) with some Russian and Asian costuming. It was ok but not enough to D00M recommend.
