The title says it all. It's a half hour documentary about various swear words. They use comedians, actors and historians to give us some background on our favorite curse words. The episode tQ and I saw was all about the word Fuck. It was funny and enlightening.
Oops, almost forgot. The show is hosted by Nicolas Cage. Yes, that Nicolas Cage. And he is very Nicolas Cage in this. I think he went and spent a lot of money on new hair.
It's pretty good way to spend 25 minutes.

Cool. I intending to check this out.
I like Cage for his quirkiness, so much so that I'll eventually get to his latest Jiujitsu, which looks abysmally bad (but maybe there's space alien swordfights).

Checked out e1. It was okay. Nick is having fun with it. Actually everyone seems to be having fun. It wasn’t as informative regarding etymology as I would've liked. It was more about history in film and tv. At 20 mins an Ep, with lots of quick cuts and rapid fire scenes, it’s entertaining enough and I’ll likely peep a few more eps.

E2 shit was a little stronger. Cage has found his groove with his role. I like the academic commentators best. What a great field of scholarship. The swearing experiment was teased in the first Ep is acted out amusingly (but with poor experimental methods). Some of the comedians are a bit tiresome but I’ve always liked Silverman.
E3 bitch wasn’t up to par. Cage was reeled back because this was a female thing. It was more about the female comedians and the gay azn dude. They added another female scholar specializing in women’s studies. Not as funny as the previous two eps.

2 eps in, enjoyable.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.

Random note - there's swords in dick!
There's an odd pic in a montage of pics of a businessman with an epee. I'm not quite sure how that fit in with what they were saying, but it's a sword and we'll take it.

e5 pussy. I got into pussy. It's intriguing especially given the how it changed under the present regime.
Is anyone else still watching this? It's been fun, especially because the eps are short. Bite sized.
One more to go. I hope they renew this.
I must check out some Nikki Glaser stand up. Maybe some Joel Kim Booster too.

e6 damn, it's over. that was amusing. the final ep of s1 (hoping for an s2) summed things up adequately. they worked for me mostly because they are short. there was a tiny segment on swear words and phrases from different countries that could've been blown up into its own episode.
god's bones. gonna start using that one.

God's Bones, indeed. tQ and I finished the series. It was hit or miss for me. Some of it was really engaging. Some it was tedious. For one, I do not care for Susan Silverman. But I'm glad I saw it. I kept thinking how much hair Nicolas Cage has now. It's a miracle. And I also kept thinking about the words themselves. There is a lot of evolution of words in a couple of centuries in regard to spelling. So, is the middle english word fuck similar to the fuck we have today? And the same goes for other words as well.
I did like the exploration of different swear words in other languages. That could be fascinating.

LCF and I recently finished the series. It was hit and miss for us too, but the spokespeople they chose seemed very good.
We're thinking of watching it again -- once it makes it to TV. We'll make a drinking game of it, taking a shot every time there's a bleep. Right now we're stockpiling lemonade, because it's likely to require a lot of shots.

BTW, for the shit episode, I kept expecting them to tap a scene from Spring Breakers. Since they didn't, I'll do it myself.
As setup, James Franco has just bailed out three delinquent fun-loving girls and brought them back to his pad.

Vid unavailable.
But I must add my disappointment that you've clearly seen this film to remember this scene and never added to this: http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=3930

Oops.
Didn't realize anyone had seen and reviewed it here. If only DOOM had a search box for that sort of thing.
[Spring Breakers likewise upped my regard for James Franco.]
