Antarctica: A Year on Ice (2013) by Anthony Powell
#1
There have been times in my life when, after spending enough time with someone, I start thinking, "That person has a problem," whether it be drinking, hoarding, gaming, or whatever.

Anthony Powell has a time-lapse problem.  The guy is obsessed with it.  Oh?  Someone planted a pea?  Let's time-lapse it sprouting.  A flat tire?  Time-lapse the repair.   In this 90-minute documentary, he time-lapses everything.

And it is stunning.  Not just the time-lapses, of which there are an abundance, but all the footage of antarctica year-round, and the people and their stories who frequent that place.  He spent something like eight years getting footage for this, and it is breathtaking, haunting, and so very alien.

Highly recommended, unless you're afraid of ice and snow -- or susceptible to time-lapse addiction.  A big-time wink at someone.
I'm nobody's pony.

Hey! Time-lapse is your friend.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
