Airlift

The latest from Akki (Akshay Kumar). Based on a true story, 170,000 Indians are trapped in Kuwait when Saddam marches in. Akki is a major businessman, who could just bribe his way out but decides to get his whole staff out, which expands to thousands. Think Schindler's List but Bollywood. Three music numbers (the first has Akki and belly dancers), lots of CGI warfare, some chilling raids, Indian bureaucracy, one fight scene, a really annoying dude that you want to punch in the nose because he never stops complaining about the horrid conditions (living with hundreds of refugees in an abandoned school), and a lot of patriotism. Totally skippable, but I found it distracting. Interesting to see Saddam from a completely different point of view and learn a bit of history that I never knew, even though it was highly fictionalized.
