Surrogates (2009) by Jonathan Mostow
#1
You guessed it. We're in doppelgangerville once more.

Bruce Willis is a cop living in a future where people live in isolation and interact in the real world by means of surrogate robots. In pursuit of a suspect for an unprecedented murder, Bruce breaks some rules (through his surrogate) and ends up getting suspended from the force. No longer having a surrogate, he does the unthinkable -- ventures out on the streets where there are only surrogates anymore.

This is a solid science fiction idea with some nice world-building. Good details, a sense of logic to most everything. It has a spooky futuristic feel to it. Unfortunately, it soon reverts to a rather formulaic action flick. I suppose that all Bruce Willis vehicles are required to have a die-hard feel to them anymore. Sigh.

All in all, might be worth a doppelgander. But it could have been so much better!
I'm nobody's pony.

Doppelgander. Ugh.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
