I read this last year. It was a pretty interesting read. Kipling's story is loosely based on Josiah Harlan's life. Pretty amazing that Americans have been f*cking around in the affairs of the mid-east for about 170 years. Also interesting to note that this guy was a Quaker (I wrote quacker the first time...).
