Post-Modernist take on Emily Dickinson. That's a hard style to do well, but if it works it can be great (like Moulin Rouge) and here it's mostly done well. Sometimes it drags, but on the whole entertaining. They do a nice job with her writing poems, conveying some feeling of inspiration, and showing the text on screen. There's some hip-hop music and even one poem done as a song. Jane Krakowski is her mother, bringing some comedy (although there is a fair amount already). The design is good, and the credits are very clever. Plus the star (Hailee Steinfeld, who I was not familiar with) is good. And Wiz Khalifa plays Death. No sword fighting though. Doom recommended? Maybe if you like that style.
