Really enjoyed it. I was worried for a three-quel people would phone in their performances, but it's well done...
Possible spoilers
I can't help but see "The Brave Little Toaster" influences. Also, the bear reminded me of Jason Robards in "A Boy and His Dog".
Also the "Night & Day" short was clever.

The Night & Day short was fantastic. Loved it.
This Toy Story was pretty dark and depressing, and the big baby doll was, frankly, creepy. That said, I enjoyed it and had a good cry at the end, as was intended. Looking forward to seeing it again at home, without being surrounded by ADD kiddies.
Also - I'm officially SO done with 3D. Don't care. Doesn't improve a film. Doesn't enhance the experience. It's so not a big deal. The glasses, no matter how good they, are a pain and I always walk out of the theater with a headache. So not worth extra $$$ per ticket.

Pixar only cares about what it likes. Fortunately, most everyone likes what Pixars likes.
I can't image the concept behind Night and Day every getting approved in a corporate board meeting. It is just too far out, but a very simple idea. And it looks cool, too.
The Big Bay was creepy. The baby creeped me out in it's first movie when it was a real toddler. But on the whole this movie is very dark. I'm curious to see how it's target audience reacted to it. Unless I'm the target audience and I'm sad.
The movie was good, well told, but I wanted it to be funnier. There were too many dark moments, especially quietly accepting your fate while you face obliteration, that weren't balanced with light moments. There were a few but it's the darkness I remember most.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

T thought it was 'okay'. I think her gen is split on TS as they didn't play with those toys so it doesn't quite work for them. Buzz became a 'boy thing' with her classmates, just like Star Wars, which she rejects too. She conceded the humor of Ken & Barbie and Mr. Tortilla Head (DM was heckled by Mr. Potato Head in line for the arcade ride at CA Adventure, so she likes him). She thought the monkey was creepier than the big baby, but given TS2, with the Gilliam rip-offs with the mutant neighbor kid's toys, it was expected.
I've noticed that a lot of people who wear glasses don't care for 3D. I love 3D. I do have a prescription pair of glasses, but I almost never use them unless I have to remove a splinter or something really fine. tq, you should just see the non-3D version.
