You'd think I'd like this. Kinda meh tho. Just watched the first ep. It's kinda Da Vinci Code (without the code) meets Jessica Jones (without a cool snarky Jessica). Maybe it works better for Catholics. Good to know that Warrior Nuns use Wing Chun dummies. I may watch more.
There's glowing crusader swords like lightsabers, but no sword fights yet. Only recommended for DOOM Catholics, and just to answer my curiousity.

Wooden dummies? Is there a secret training hall in the basement? Next to the cocaine processing room? I hope the director/writer knows that anyone venturing into the latter needs to be entirely nude. Sure, I'll allow some suspension of disbelief, but that detail they need to get right.
Otherwise I can't believe they're really nuns.

ep 2. no nudity. no sword fights although they show the sword again.
it's another 'chosen one' trope. there was a point in harry potter when neville was suspected as the real chosen one (that was just in the books) and i really hoped that was so because it would've been a great twist.
i think i'm out.

I watched a few more eps. 2 more I think. It was something to eat cantaloupe in the background and fall asleep. It’s still not grabbing me but I couldn’t find anything else to watch and Yuki was nipping at me. I just wanted some cantaloupe.
Finally got some swordfights in some back story on the halo. Slo-Mo chopping with digital blood sprays. Unimpressive. I started to wonder about this all being sacrilegious. It’s take on the Church is very comic book. Shotgun Mary is overdoing her blackness. The nunnery and training is almost amusing but still falls short.
I need something else to watch on Netflix. We’re cancelling the service again soon - only got it back for that Wira review.

We tried "The Floor is Lava" to see what the buzz was about. It's a terrible show. Terrible.

I was tempted by that because it's trending, but so is the old version of Extraction because of the new version of Extraction.
I live the floor is lava. My floor is our nippy puppy Yuki.

I gave up on this long ago...
Quote:Netflix has a troubling new problem on its hands
Fans have successfully taken the reins, reviving a property the streamer had buried.
Streaming service Netflix has garnered a reputation as a killjoy. No, we're not talking about the whole password-sharing debacle -- which, despite the grief, gave the company's subscriber base a good boost. No, this problem is older than the password-sharing debate.
Over the years, several shows with devoted fan followings have been unceremoniously canceled. As far as fans are concerned, what's the point of all this original content if your new favorite show just gets the axe? That's the question fans of the series 'Warrior Nun' asked -- loudly enough to get an answer.
After two seasons, ‘Warrior Nun’ was one of many beloved shows to be canned. But the fans were able to resurrect the series -- without the involvement of Netflix, according to Deadline.
“I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures,” wrote executive producer Dead English in a statement published on the show’s website. “Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.”
English went on to say that the WGA-SAG strikes mean that he can’t reveal all the details of the series’ resurrection, but he indicated that the new production will involve the establishment of a universe -- opening up possibilities for spinoffs.
The show's salvation is being credited to fans, who have passionately kept the #saveWarriorNun campaign up and thriving. In addition to slews of tweets, the fanbase has taken on some pretty hilarious antics to get Netflix's attention -- including taking out a billboard just across the street from the streaming network's home office advocating for the return of the show.
