Sourdough by Robin Sloan
#1
The second book by the author of Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore - which I will here once more highly recommend.

It's about a robotics programmer in San Francisco who becomes a baker, but there's also a mysterious cultural group, a secret farmer's market, and some women all named Lois.

Entertaining, but not as good as his previous one IMO. He does write a very readable book, and occasionally tosses out a great line. Both Harry Potter and the Grateful Dead are mentioned.

No, but here are goats. And robots. And some mocking of Soylet-sipping programmers.

Actually he mentions that - the line was (loose quote), "Goats are always giving side-eye."

Someone in our neighborhood rented some goats for weed trimming last year and they escaped. They actually managed to cross the Alameda without incident.
