Woohoo! New author.
Well, new to me. And he's funny. And he writes good stories. And I'm learning so much new Scottish slang. Not that I knew much before. But it took me the first couple of pages to get up to speed on Brockmyre's language skills
Jack Parlabane is a journalist who has novel approach to writing and nothing will get between him and his story. In this beginning of the series, he's left his job in Los Angeles because he's angered the wrong people and they want to kill him. And on his first night back in Scotland, the doctor in the flat below him gets killed in the most terrible manner. It's the first thread to be pulled in a developing scandal in the National Health Care system.
