Welcome another Disney princess! Two actually, although one is immediately crowned as the Snow Queen. Disney is at the top of their game with the showtunes, hitting just the right notes, right from the start. This will make a great Broadway show (after all, Ilsa the Snow Queen is voiced by Idina Menzel). Princess Anna is empowered like the rest of the modern Disney princesses and the story, although predictable, sends a positive message overall to young girls. The ice palace is dazzling. There is allegedly a cameo from Rapunzel (and my namesake Eugene...or Flynn) but we were unable to spot them. I think I saw Tiana however. If you like Disney princess films, this one is a total winner.
The opening vintage Mickey Mouse cartoon is delightful too.
Mom, T & I all loved it. This was the first movie we've seen together since my Dad went into hospice.
We saw it in 2D because that was the only showing available during our narrow viewing window, but we are seriously considering seeing it again in 3D because with all of the snow flurries and CGI, it is probably really good in 3D.
There's some sword swinging and chopping but there's only one sword, so no true sword fight. But at least there's a sword.
