Email notifications?

Just got two email notifications for new forum posts. Never saw those before...

Hmmmmmm? I'm sure that's a thing, but I haven't enabled it.

Just a possibility:

If you are subscribed to a thread, that might cause email notifications of new posts there, or it could become an option.

Are you subscribed to any threads?  I am not.

To check, click "User CP", and down in the Miscellaneous settings click "Thread Subscriptions".

Again, I have none, and this is a total shot in the dark.

I subscribed to one of the threads here on this subforum by accident and haven't quite figured out how to turn it off. There's a button somewhere. Maybe I did turn it off. It's seldom posted on so it doesn't matter much.

Okay. This probably isn't a hot tip for any of you but it's blowing my mind.

I set up a rule/filter on my mail program to send any mail that comes in with the word 'unsubscribe' in the text directly to the junk folder. So far. So good.
