Who doesn't love space opera? Then leave.
This a very good yarn about a space captain caught between an empire based on keeping the Dead alive, the ultimate reward for service, and a group of semi-robotic amazons.
You start out fearing the Amazons because of their clone-hive mentality, but in the end you start to hate the living dead Emperor for the way he keeps trying to kill the starship capation.
The one flaw in the book is that it ends on a cliffhanger and the author has stated on his website that he doesn't really like writing adult fiction. He prefers the teen fiction because he gets a better response from the teens. This means there is no set point when he will finish the series. Grrrrr
