Invisible Target

I going to say this is the latest Jacky Wu Jing vehicle, although Jacky plays the villain again. It's a typical cops & gangsters HK style flick, with Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue and Jaycee Chan in the cop 'good guy' leads (Jaycee as in 'JC' ala Jackie Chan - this is Jackie's son). Also worthy of note is Philip Ng, just because I know him personally as a friend. Philip has a small role and is offed quickly, but not after some spectacular parkour-like stunts. The film is ok. Director Benny Chan was responsible for some Jackie films (Chan not Wu Jing) such as Who am I? New Police Story and the abysmal Rob-B-Hood. The film moves along at a predictable clip. Lots and lots of shattered glass in slow motion. Lots of big flame ball explosions in slow motion. What redeems these are the placement of death defying human bodies flying through the fire and glass. The fights all are good, solid stuff. Some of the stunts are the crazy bone-breaking kind where you see a man fall several stories, bouncing off stuff, all the way to the ground. The plot is predictable and over done. It's another HK flick that you just want to skip to the action. HK flicks are getting a lot more like porn in that regard. I enjoyed it for the action, but it was heavily encumbered with too much plot.
