Pixar has done better. Without any star voices, Elementals tells the story of a fire girl falling in love with a fire boy, the ultimate in incompatible lovers. There is a healthy message about immigrants and racism in there, too, as the different element seek to exclude fire from their sections of the city. We also get the message to follow your own dream.
The whole movie was very serious because they had a serious message to tell. The whole thing could have done with a few more jokes. Or any jokes. Although I did laugh at a message on a t-shirt.
