Okay, I admit that I'm a sucker for bad movies on TV. (Or am I just a sucker for Kate Beckinsale in her tight shiny outfit?) I enjoyed it, but it was a mess. Maybe if it had been a little campier, like Van Helsing it would have been better.
The preposterousity of it was staggering. I didn't know that a werewolf could kill you and then you would come back to life a few minutes later as a werewolf. Or that werewolves can be killed with one sword thrust, but can withstand a hail of large caliber bullets. Or that vampires are really high tech. (Where do they get the money? Long term investments?) Or that not only can a vampire recover from wounds, but that Kate Beckinsale's stretchly clothes can apparently heal themselves too.
And why can the really old vampire turn into a batlike creature but the others can't? And how can he use his wings as spears and pincers AND fly at the same time? And how can he be ground between a truck and a rock wall but not be ground to bits? And the blood carrying the memory thing was just dumb.
But a nice cameo by Derek Jacobi.
