Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Hotel Cecil
#1
It's a four episode series and I think tQ and I are done after two episodes.

You might have read about the disappearance of the tourist from the Hotel Cecil. I did. It was in the news. My connection was that on my commute home from shows in the South Los Angeles, I would drive by The Cecil. It was always a curious structure to me. I knew it had a sordid history. It was right on the edge of the seedy part of downtown. You have to wonder about a hotel that has daily, weekly, and monthly rates. I think I might have been on a show that did some filming in the hotel. Long story long, I knew about the hotel.

When I saw the promos for the show centered around this woman, I was immediately interested. Especially in one of the interviews in the trailer when the hotel manage talks about how every room in the hotel had a murder in it. Yikes.

But the show doesn't really live up to it's promise. It takes a huge amount of time to say anything. It has hours (or what seemed like hours) of the only footage Elisa Lam in one of the elevators in the hotel. It has tons of YouTube detectives going over the footage like it's the Zapruder Film. And they let the opened ended questions just linger to build suspense rather than just going to the detectives and getting some answer. It's all very tedious and salacious to no point.

No sword fights.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
