Mary Louise Dreyfuss and Wil Ferrell star in this laugh riot about a family falling apart after nearly being killed in an avalanche.. All true except for the laugh riot. There is one laugh out loud funny line in the movie. It's a breath of whimsy in an otherwise dark melodrama. Both Ferrell and Parker are really good in this drama about life after a near death experience. Especially when they view the disaster from completely different view points.
It's a pretty rough film. In one scene a visiting couple watches as Parker and Ferell recount the incident. It gets more and more uncomfortable. The film audience is that visiting couple. I kept yelling at the couple to say "We'll just be going now" but they never do.
I'm sure this film didn't do well because Parker and Ferrell are not in their usual lanes. And it is well done. Just really depressing.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
